Better Know A Classmate: Juli

What do you remember about your first day at Bishop Carroll? What was your very first class?

hmmm...first day, I was a little nervous about the size of the school compared to SFA across the street, but I remember being so excited about meeting all these new people that it quickly absorbed the anxiety. My first class memory was in Mrs. Barton's English class. We had alphabetical seating assignments so I was behind Mikey Harp, and Mrs. Barton would balance gracefully atop the bar stool seat at the front of class. I marveled that she was who she was and could get away with that...

You were SUPPOSED to say, “I remember walking into my first hour Old Testament class with Sister Mary Anne and sitting to the right of you!” I recall Sister Mary Anne noticing you occasionally wore a choker necklace, and she was surprised they were back in style.

You DO remember! Well, I was hoping not to make you feel uncomfortable with not remembering so I avoided that one. Except, I don't remember Sister Mary Anne noting my keen fashion sense... It was a very cool choker though.

Juli in 1993, basically
Are you serious that you didn't say Old Testament because you thought I wouldn't remember? Because I didn't know if I should bring it up either, because it's creepier for me to say it. HURR A PRETTY GIRL SAT NEXT TO ME HURR HURRR HURRRR. But it was memorable for me, because I was going from a K-8 class with 6 girls in it to a high school class with 106 girls in it, and I was overwhelmed.

I DID remember sitting next to you in a religion class freshman year, but I wasn't sure of the semester... 6! There were only 6!?!? Wow, I didn't realize that. SFA had at least 12 in each of the 3 classes in our grade. Fun fact: SFA class of '93 was the first year that SFA had 3 rooms per grade.
Your husband has a website detailing the goings-on of your household. The "About The McClure Family" section states that you have three children, but everyone knows that you have four kids. Am I to believe that managing four children is detrimental to website upkeep?

I had to smile when I saw you asked about this. I tease Mike about it every once in awhile or whenever someone makes a comment to me about our "expanding family". It was long before number four, Maddox, came along that Michael started losing vigor on the upkeep of our site. It began as a pet project for him when his sister moved to Colorado so she, and the rest of our family, could stay up-to-date on the goings-on with the McClure clan. He also used it to test out different web design concepts and programming styles. He's pretty cool like that, fine-tuning his craft and all:) Now he is regularly helping others with their pet projects so he doesn't have a lot of extra time to update ours. With FB and Instagram, we are still keeping tabs on all the activity the family can handle to hear about.

The site lists you as a "Purchasing Specialist". IF that is accurate, tell me what is so special about your purchases. Describe a typical workday in mundane detail, please.

HA!!! I like that..., special purchases... Well, it is now inaccurate and two positions ago. I'm still at Cessna. Within Cessna, Purchasing Specialist, a title used in the procurement profession, means you work with suppliers in a more strategic manner-negotiating contracts, improving their quality, work with them on developing new technology, etc. I moved from Purchasing Specialist to a role on a Business Team that was specific to our two largest jet aircraft (Sovereign and CX). On the Business Team, I was still focused on supply chain efforts and worked to focus on the issues specific to improving cost, quality, manufacturing and ROI to the model lines I was responsible.

Those were good times but I'm SUPER excited about what I'm doing now...

I'm dubbed Sr. Engagement Manager. (no, it has nothing to do with getting people hitched!) Some people say I'm a party planner extraordinaire. My team is responsible for planning and coordinating all the logistics, details, and marketing efforts that go into an aviation related event for Cessna. Daily, I work with all areas of our internal Marketing and Sales teams, external suppliers, and creative companies to pull together events that are as far out as 9 months and as far away as Asia, Latin America, or Europe. I've even gotten to use some of the Spanish skills Senora Roberts taught me back at BC!

Wait..., you said mundane...so, I take a lot of phone calls and get a TON of emails with "opportunities", try to keep my team focused on the priorities and motivated to get them done, encourage the management teams to make decisions before deadlines/expedite fees kick-in and juggle budget dollars so we can make the most amazing displays/events/parties. Was that mundane or detailed enough?

So you’re throwing parties that you don’t get to attend? Are you ever eating ramen noodles at your desk, thinking about the aviation executives enjoying the caviar and cocaine brunch you arranged for them in Italy?

HAHAHAHAhahaha (me laughing at your cool and unassuming wit) I do go to the big events but not the small ones and we avoid cocaine on the menu, especially the mid-morning gatherings. My preferred lunch is Lean Cuisine or Smart Choice vegetarian selections and I do tend to eat at my desk often.

Aircraft executives enjoy brunch

How vegetarian are you?
Very, if it bled, I don't eat it.
When did that start?
I was actually vegetarian on the trip to Cancun. It was around the end of junior year.
Do you remember when we were having dinner (and drinks, featuring very large hurricanes) in Cancun with some people from Louisiana? Do you remember the phrase one girl used to describe it when underwear was improperly wedging itself?
I DO!!!! That was so fun. A definite highlight of the trip. Did I thank you for inviting me to that?!?! Thank you. I'm not a 100% sure I recall the exact word she used...was it snuggy? She didn't call it a wedgie though.
The Louisianan said that the phrase they used instead of wedgie was, "My butt's hungry." We laughed a lot about that. You know, because of the all the rum we had ingested.
I'm embarrassed I forgot about "hungry butt". That was hysterical! And she said it with an accent so it made it more entertaining.
Are you more of a “it’s inhumane” vegetarian, or a “it’s more sustainable”, or “it’s healthier”?
It's healthier.
What is the worst vegetarian food, and what is the best meat dish?
Hmmm, I don't eat bad vegetarian food... As for meat, i really used to like poultry-chicken mostly, and I do miss my mom's Thanksgiving dressing. Mmmmm, dressing....
Pad Phet is the best vegetarian dish on earth. (Ignore the shrimp in this example image.)

Your oldest daughter is entering high school and has a Facebook page that states she is single and she is "Interested in: Men". Tell me how that sentence makes you feel.
Oi! and whew... (Honestly the first time I read it, I almost got sick. IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?!?!?) It is surreal to have a child (can I call her that?!?!) this age at our age. Especially since I remember a lot about what I was thinking, doing, watching, saying and where I was going when my parents weren't around.

You mean the mall? Going to the mall without your parents’ consent?

Yes...that is exactly what I meant. The mall...

In all seriousness, I keep reminding myself that I still turned out alright and this is the best time for her to learn the hard life lessons with less severe consequences and now's the time when I can see if Mike and I have done a good enough job as parents to get her through it.
It still freaks me out though...

On Facebook, on October 2, 2010, you stated that you made mashed potatoes, and that you "never made them from scratch before". WHAT THE HELL, JULI????! WERE YOU MAKING MASHED POTATOES FROM DEHYDRATED POTATO FLAKES???

...oh, for shame! I was, alas, making instant mashed potatoes until that point in time...My grandma Hein and aunt Mickey were the only two women in my family that ever made homemade mashed potatoes.

Yikes.
Did you mash them with the skins or without? What are your feelings on garlic in mashed potatoes? Also, your aunt was named Mickey?

Absolutely with. Garlic is a definite requirement. Mickey was her nickname. Both her and my grandma were Margaret Ann's so they started calling her Mickey and it stuck. I loved it growing up and found it intriguing that she is, in fact, a HUGE Mickey Mouse fan, as well as the correlation to the beloved 80's hit "Hey, Mickey!".

You teach yoga. What kind(s)? Is there a yoga teacher certification process? My wife says during the last 10 minutes of her yoga classes, there is silence while everyone lays there and relaxes. Is she being scammed?

Yep, I teach yoga. No, your wife is not being scammed. Savasana (a.k.a. the nap, as it has been called) is one of the most critical and, for some, the most difficult.

My classes range in intensity from prenatal to power. I teach an intermediate class at the NW Y here in Wichita. It is vinyasa/ashtanga class which means I focus on alignment and flow through poses/asanas. In my own practice, I love doing arm balances!

To teach at the Y, I had to go through their general group exercise instructor classes and take the yoga specific 64+ hours of initial yoga instructor training. I have been going to yoga workshops or instructor trainings on my own since 2009 when I first started teaching. Recently, I started an internship program with Yoga Central where I audit or teach most Saturday mornings. My intention is to become RYT 200 trained in the coming years. With my new day job and the travel schedule it requires, the timeline is getting pushed out a bit...

Would you like to hear some of my father’s complaints about the traffic the northwest YMCA has created around his once serene area?

I am interested but I wonder if they are appropriate to be in writing?

My dad, thinking about the intersection of 21st and 135th.

What do you say to people who think they are not bendy enough to practice yoga?

THAT is WHY they need to do yoga... it is a practice for a reason. You have to do it to get more from it. Jus' sayin'...

What is your favorite word?

...that is a really hard-hitting question...I'm a fan of words so it is difficult to narrow that down to one.

[several days later...]

i think I will pick "duty". It makes me laugh to hear people say it & I like laughing. My kids caught on that it was a trigger word for me & now they crack up too which just makes me laugh harder. Not worth waiting for, huh?

What is your least favorite word?

But...

What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

People with faith and a willingness to believe and trust, especially when there are no particular reasons to do so. I love seeing how they allow themselves to be excited and enable themselves to be successful.

What turns you off?

Excuses.

What is your favorite curse word?

With four kids, I tend not to curse. Usually, I say things like, "FRUIT!" or "SUGAR!". If am sans kids, I've been known to drop the f-bomb. I know..., not so creative, right? but I like to think I'm a cussing purist:)

What sound or noise do you love?

rain/thunderstorms

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

I am doing something that I have always wanted to do now, but if you want me to think of something I'd try, I used to dream (like when I was 8) about being an interior designer for extravagant homes or at least where money was no object, a landscape designer, rock star/professional singer or maybe a celebrity stylist!

What profession would you NOT like to attempt?

Any profession that has to deal with defecation...oops, I'm a mom... so...yeah...

What was your favorite class at BC?

Immediately after I read this question, different English classes popped to mind: Ms. Billy Ramsey, Mr. Barber, Mrs. Depenbrock (sp?) and I had good times in Yearbook and Mr. DeMars' class even though he was cantankerous beyond words...maybe that was just Peter and Greg's affect on him:)

Is there anything you would have done differently in your time at BC?

While many may know I did things that were not in my best interest academically, socially, spiritually or physically, I believe the choices and consequences of those choices that I made only served to "season" the person I am today. You could say they made me spicy! :D

Between this answer and the earlier one about your oldest daughter, I’m thinking I was oblivious to the wild and dangerous side of high school Juli. I was probably distracted by those choker necklaces.

You are cracking me up! You were not oblivious. You were at many of those occasions.

Well, it’s not like I opened a door at one of Keeler’s ragers and saw you in a Requiem for a Dream “ass to ass” situation, or whatever. You might be being hard on yourself for normal Class of ‘97 partying. Or I’m just clueless.

Whoa! Sooooooo did NOT do any of that... I may be scarred now... It was pretty normal partying, I suppose, but a lot of it. Just weird to think of my kids doing the same thing.

Juli made better choices than Jennifer Connelly's character in Requiem
How do you feel about getting older, fellow thirty-something?

I LOVE birthdays (all birthdays, even yours!) so getting older hasn't bothered me. It is, in fact, a month long celebration every year so I look forward to it;) August 1st (July 15-Aug 15, don't dispute the time. It will only make it longer;) You can send gifts, happy birthday recordings, and well wishes anytime. There's pros and cons to the whole deal, but the pros are definitely winning in my book.

Better Know A Classmate: Brad

I got to thinking, "Hey, what's up with Brad? And what's up with this blog?" So I got in touch with Brad and applied a new template to 97kix, and now IT'S ALL HAPPENING.

As is fitting for an interview with one of my few friends who owned a pager in the mid-nineties, we talked about technology. Other topics broached include Towne West Square and the always sexy John Mayer.

* * *

At K-State, you lived in a two-person dorm room with both Pat and Simmons. Tell a story about those crowded conditions.

There was lots of weird going on in that room. I do remember the foreign kid Alf pissed his pants one night in there drunk off Johnny Walker. My favorite memory though has to be one night we decided to sneak a keg into the room. We patiently waited until the dorm floor checks were done and I believe Mike tried to run up 4 flights of stairs with a full keg but got tired after two. You could hear a loud “PING” as the keg hit every step until Mike, now exhausted, got to our floor where he rolled the keg down the hall and into our room. Once the door closed you could hear loud cheering. I believe we used the tap that some elderly gentleman we met on the newly invented “internet machine” mailed us. Those were weird, weird times. We had blue Astroturf too. So that was awesome.

I lost track of you around Y2K. What did I miss?

Let’s see. Y2K. Well, I lived with Matt Dicks for awhile off of Douglas and Martinson. We once had to call the landlord because there was shit coming out of the shower head and filling up the bathtub. Man, that shit was crazy. I bought a small one bedroom house off of 1st and Meridian where I lived for 4 years. I once let a homeless guy sleep in my garage. You know for good karma and stuff. I've been at the same job since 2001. I got this job because it was close to my grandmother’s house and I liked having lunch with her. I moved out to 119th and Rolling Hills in 2004 where I've been ever since. I will occasionally create custom Christmas cards for people, but I don’t really draw anymore, but when I do it takes a lot out of me. I prefer writing. I have a blog that I rarely allow access to. I’d like to publish a book. I also religiously watch “Keeping Up with the Kardashian’s” and I’m not ashamed of it.

Brad watches this garbage.

It's interesting that you mention your relatively private blog. I consider you one of my more prolific Facebook friends, posting status updates and photos of delicious grilled foods quite often. What do you think about social media and sharing in the digital age? What makes you decide to write something privately versus publicly?

Great question. A lot of people don’t really believe me when I tell them that I am an extremely private person. I use social media like Facebook strictly as one of my many writing tools. I try to keep stuff on Facebook humorous and fun whereas my blog is a straight up diary on my day to day life. It’s more emotional. It’s more me. It’s a funny thing this “living on the internet” and I’m not sure if it’s a necessary evil or not. If I ever get married I plan on deleting Facebook because that part of my life isn't for sale. I don’t want to share that part of my life with the internet. I decided to start writing privately to share with an audience that didn't know me. I wanted to try to reach people across the world and share my experiences with them just hoping they could relate to my words. I do this very well. A private person who loves an audience? It’s an easier thing to do when people don’t really know you.

I found that my Facebook updates became much less frequent after I got married. Or maybe it's just getting older. "Went to work today. Came home, made some dinner, watched Franklin and Bash, went to bed." No one wants to read that, right? It was more interesting back in the days where you'd post, "Got really wasted on absinthe and met a bunch of hilarious Germans who showed me the weirdest porno." or whatever.

You’d be surprised at what people want to read. Plus, who doesn't love Franklin and Bash? Hello! I’m always a little surprised at who is really reading my Facebook updates and I get some pretty interesting and lovely messages from people I’d never expect. However, I completely understand where you are coming from. The challenge I get with using Facebook is too never try and force anything. I almost think those assholes should be paying me. I’m totally jealous of weird german porn though, that’s a life experience my friend.

How do you feel about these kids today with their Twitter and Snapchat and sexting?

I also have a Twitter account, and while I don’t tweet much I find twitter to be a fascinating tool. If you ever want to know anything about anything in real time then just hashtag that mug on Twitter. I don’t get the SnapChat thing, well to be honest, I just now got a computer back in my house. I didn’t have one for 7 years or so. I only use the internet at work, and I use my phone for everything at home, but the more I write I’ve learned that I probably need to have a computer. It’s still in the box by the way, I don’t know how to hook up that thing. And sexting is just plain stupid. Damn kids and their rock n roll. Did you know that “SMH” means shaking my head? Someone recently explained this to me and it nearly blew my mind.

If sexting was around when we were in high school, how many sexts do you think you'd have seen passed around by poor decision makers?

Oh Jesus I can only imagine. They would be sending dick pics galore.

You being a huge Cubs fan, you should follow @BestFansStLouis. They retweet Cardinals' fans self-congratulatory comments about being the best fans in baseball, and also pathetic, ad hoc, often bigoted attacks they tweet about their own players.

I will follow them. One of my associates is a huge Cardinals fan. That’s why I hired him. We don’t speak during the Cubs-Cards series. It doesn’t matter if the Cards win the series as long the Cubs win one game I’ll talk shit for months.

Wrigley Field, home of the terrible, terrible Cubs.

Your company's stated mission "is to be the nation's best floor covering distributor". Is that also your personal mission?

My personal mission was to make this company successful, which I believe I have done. I have a unique business model that works based solely on customer service. I’m feared and respected in this industry. When I was a younger man my personal mission was to sleep with a lot of designers. I like artsy chics, Dan. We better move on.

Please describe an average workday in horrifically mundane detail.

A normal workday? What the hell are those? I recently revamped my entire staff here so I rarely have normal days. Currently I’m spending a lot of time on all the JC Penney remodels going on nationwide. I also work closely with contractors doing school projects. You know those cool school gym logos you see on basketball courts? Yeah, a ton of those pass by my desk for approval before being sent out to have water-jet cut. I usually know what’s about to be built in Wichita years before we see them go up which I find interesting. You ever been in a Ross Dress for Less or a Dillon’s grocery store. You've been in at least one of those. Odds are I've ordered that floor you’re walking on. I love numbers. I love math. I do a lot of talking. I do a lot of emailing. I work a lot. I work long hours. I love taking trips and seeing how our products are made. I like meeting new designers from all over the United States. There are some days I take over 200 calls and answer at least 100 emails. I stay pretty busy. I am constantly seeking a challenge. What I dislike the most is listening to my co-workers bitch and trust me, I hear it. All day.

You seem to non-ironically cherish John Mayer. Is it the sexy, smooth metaphors in his lyrics? The O-face he makes when he shreds his guitar? What is a great Mayer deep track that everyone should hear?

My love of Mayer. You can blame Matt Dicks for this one. He took me to see Maroon 5 before they got big and Mayer was the headlining act. I bitched the whole way up to Kansas City. I thought Maroon 5 sucked so I wasn't looking forward to seeing Mayer. The dude came out and it was like a spiritual awakening for me. Funny story. At that concert there was this group of people who I think might have been in a cult sitting in front of us. As Mayer started playing a young couple started making out right in front of me. The chic must have been wasted because I’m pretty sure she gave me an over the shorts handsy while making out with that dude. Wild stuff. It’s my personal belief that he is the greatest guitar player of our generation. He does make some pretty ridiculous O-faces though. I relate a lot to John and his music. His albums usually mirror where I’m at in my own personal life. Whenever I introduce someone to Mayer I usually start with “In Your Atmosphere” followed with “Comfortable” and then tell them to just sit down and listen to the entire “Continuum” album.

John Mayer, lookin' sexy

Have you ever passed off a Mayer lyric as your own to impress and/or seduce a lady?

No. I said something to a lady the other day that I really liked. I handle her account so she’s known me for a few years now. She asked if I had been dating or had been looking and I replied. “You know I’ve honestly quit looking. I’d like to believe that she’s out there looking for me, that she wants to find me as bad as I want to be found.” I’ve never used one of his lyrics to pass off as my own. However, it is pretty common knowledge that if you are female and we are entangled in a private relationship of some kind that the first present I give is his “Continuum” album.

The Target that employed you during high school has been closed for years. Any thoughts on that, or the Towne West Square area in general?

I had some good times at that Target in high school. Hard to believe that was nearly 20 years ago. I hate the Towne West area. I have seen several remodel plans get flushed for years now. I was just in Towne West a week ago looking over some problems with the before mentioned JC Penney remodel. I hate that place. There is no amount of money that could be spent to do anything with it. I've been saying for years that it needs to be torn down and rebuilt. Plus I heard the closed the Orange Julius. I was livid. I avoid that area. Dan, to be honest, I rarely venture past Tyler. I like my little west side bubble.

What is your favorite word?
shaft

What is your least favorite word?

loss

What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

Music has always been something to spark my imagination. Good songwriting mixed with a perfect score always gets my brain moving. Whenever I walk my dog down 119th and the surrounding neighborhoods I am always sparked by nature also. I believe that the very space around you can also be inspiring. I've mentioned I write a lot. I like to keep a notebook in my car and there are several around my house that I keep because the smallest thing can inspire me to start writing. Kate Upton also spiritually turns me on…oh, and Canadian women. I love Canadians.

Elisha Cuthbert and ...Rachel McAdams, I think? And some other ladies?

What turns you off?

Negativity of any kind turns me off. Closed minded people turn me off. Oh, and Fox News turns me off. Talk about a mood killer.

What is your favorite curse word?
fuckbag

What sound or noise do you love?

I love the sound of rain falling. I’ll often sit outside in my garage in a lawn chair if I know a storm is coming and make the dog and I a cocktail and just close my eyes and listen. It is a perfect sound. I find it relaxing.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

I still wish to be a writer. I love words. I have a project that I've been working on for quite some time, but it’s going to need some re-writes and some name changes or I’m going to get sued, sued, and then sued some more. I write about every aspect of my life. I’ll probably write about this very moment later and you’ll probably sue me for it so I’ll change your name to Jenkins. Screenplay writing also fascinates me, Jenkins.
Richard Jenkins, acting stud

What profession would you NOT like to attempt?

An assembly line worker at a dildo factory.

What was your favorite class at BC?

This is a tough one. I was very fond of Foods class because Farrah Gillespie let me carry her books and I loved her green sweater. I really enjoyed taking Spanish with Senorita Roberts, but to be honest my 2nd hour English I class with Miss Barton our freshman year was my absolute favorite. There’s a terrific story behind the first day in that class I rarely, if ever, discuss.

Is there anything you would have done differently in your time at BC?

This is such a hard question to answer. Probably not. Those 4 years at Carroll were a unique experience that I’m glad I got to have with all of you. I mean we even got on the radio that night of your wild party, which I hear is still whispered about as nothing short of legend. I had some real life-changing moments in that place. I’m glad I had the opportunity, but I would not wish to do it again.

How do you feel about getting older, fellow thirtysomething?

You know if anything I've learned that you have to take care of yourself. I don’t eat fast food anymore. I quit all my bad vices. I’m re-training my body how to run for distance again. Do I still love my Tito’s Vodka? You bet. Now I just drink it with organic lemonades or pineapple juice instead of Red Bull. I’m more aware of the world around me, but I think you have to be. I’m more focused in my 30’s then I was in my 20’s. I know more about myself, what I’m capable of, and where I realistically want to be in life now then I ever did before. I like getting older. I mean it’s more of a challenge, plus I keep like a fine wine and keep getting better and better with age. I personally like to think that you can accomplish anything once you know exactly who you are, and getting to that point is sometimes not easy. Getting older doesn't scare me per se. I get more worried about my dog getting older then I do me. Now getting old and being alone…that scares me.

You Knew This Day Would Come

I've deleted the reunion photos from my Flickr account for reasons that aren't very interesting. You can always email me if you need one of the original files.

In other image news, you may have received the .pdf file of alumni fun facts that Michelle put together. (If not, again: please email me.) Did you notice that the cover page featured a picture of a BALD eagle rather than a GOLDEN eagle? I did!

If you'd like to replace the given photo with one of your school mascot, please feel free to use this stunning image of the bird of prey:

"Picture This" or "Freeze Frame" or whatever

Here's what I did. I took all of the photos that were on my camera after the reunion and I put them here. I didn't remove redeye, I didn't delete the ones where people were blinking, I didn't name the files. I didn't do anything except post them online.

Here is an example of the many fine pictures.

They will be kept there for quite a while. I might move them eventually.

If anyone wants a copy of an original file, email me: DJN2210 [then put the @ symbol followed by yahoo followed by .com]

For those of you who also took pictures, please let us know where to find them.

Tips For A Successful Evening

1. Show up at 8. Don't amble in at midnight, because the bar closes then.

2. Bring a camera.

3. Absolutely NO KNIVES.

4. Casual dress.

Multimedia Madness!

In addition to some nice drink specials ($2.50 domestic draws and $3 Smirnoff flavored vodka -- I recommend ordering a vanilla Smirnoff with Coke), Oscar's will allow us to control bar's upstairs big screen TV and the audio system.

That means we need:

1.> Someone to bring the Project Graduation video.

2.> Someone to bring some highlight videos of football, etc. from our BC years.

3.> Any other appropriate, BC97-related videos.
And by "appropriate", I mean "no homemade sex tapes, please". EVEN IF the recording was made between Fall '93 and Spring '97. Ignoring the legality of a such a public screening, it's simply not appropriate.
4.> A sweet mix CD featuring popular music from our BC years.
I can bring the rock, but if anyone can help out on the rap and pop, it would be appreciated. If we leave Oscar's without hearing any Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, the reunion will be a failure.

Facebooklet

If you haven't received the following email text, it's because the myself, Michelle W/R, or the BCCHS Machine doesn't have your email address...

Since it is obviously impossible for everyone to attend the reunion, I am attempting to gather contact information, as well as personal info and even a couple of pictures from each alum. This will then be compiled into a PDF file and sent out to each classmate via email. Hopefully it will help people to catch up, and put long lost friends into contact again. I will only include information from those persons who provide it to me themselves or have given it to the alumni association.

Please take a look at the list of recipients of this email.....if you notice that someone is missing, please forward this to them so that they can participate as well.

Please provide the following information in a reply to this email:

Name (maiden and married, if applicable):
Address:
Phone:
Email:
Occupation:
Marital Status:
Children:
Highlights of the past decade:

You are also welcome to send a couple of recent photos of yourself and family to be included as well. I will plan to send out the information shortly after the reunion festivities. Hope to see you all there.

If you'd like to have your information included in this project, be sure to get it to Michelle W/R (michelleronsick [at] yahoo.com) soon. Or, I guess you could post your info in the comments. We take no responsibility for people making up stuff about their classmates and passing it on as fact. That stuff just happens. That hilarious, hilarious stuff just happens.

Out of consideration for those who will have to work the morning after the reunion, would it be possible to kick things off a little earlier on Friday? Say, 7pm or so?

I thought this sounded like a reasonable idea, but it came just a little late, as the Aquila published our start time of 8 p.m. I know I'll be there early, though, so if Anonymous wants to catch up with me while I hang the decorations*, that's cool.

I will have a 1 week old baby by the time of the reunion so I don't know if I'll be coming to a lot of the reunion activities.

You were given more than 9 months of notice for the reunion, and here you are, all pregnant and whatnot?! You need to get your priorities straight. For shame.**

this is the lamest high school reunion ever. dan, would you please NOT plan the 20 year one?

Maybe you'll change your tune after I tell you about my plans for 2017? We'll start out with a formal dance. Around midnight, we'll be loaded onto buses and taken to the Warren Theater, where we'll split into two groups. The "Comedy" group will catch a private screening of Sgt. Bilko, while the "Action" group will see Jean-Claude Van Damme in The Quest. Then, it's off to Old Town for more dancing and games and, like, some pancakes or something***.

Where exactly is Oscar's?

Oscar's is at 353 N. Mead, near the intersection of 3rd and Mead in Old Town.

*There will be no decorations.
**This is a joke.
***I can't really remember.
