UPDATE 4/14

I'd like to encourage those of you interested in a family-oriented event on Saturday, November 24, to consider Beth's suggestion. Please read & respond by clicking on the "comments" link below.

* * *

Looks like we'll be enjoying one another in Old Town, at Oscar's.

It's going to be super sweet!

Did you know what I did tonight? No, no -- I mean after dinner. That's right! I watched The American Experience, which detailed the bizarre, tragic story of The People's Temple. And, perhaps of more interest to you, I looked online for some other local reunion websites.

Heights
East High Blue Aces, Blue Aces
Southeast

It would seem that we all have an equally lame web presence.

Have there been any other plans made? Are we supposed to rsvp for the events?

I read the wikipedia article on Peoples' Temple...why is the United States such a hotbed for groups like this?

Have there been any other ideas for a family time on Saturday? Why can't we just plan on going to the Exploration Place and pay regular admittance without doing a group package.

Millie: I think the answer your question is outside of my expertise as a scientist and as the class president of the Class of 1997.

Anonymous people: Other plans (i.e. Saturday family time) have not been made. We'd like someone to come forward an plan such an event.

An RSVP is NOT required for Friday night at Oscar's.

Dan, you always answer questions with such clarity. Thank you.

The hours at exploration is from 10 to 5. Why don't we just choose 12 to 2 as the target time to come if you would like to see other classmates and kids. I know there are some tables to sit at, which I can find out more about. That way people can come and go as they please and there would be no rental responsibility. If you have kids...what do you think?

Millie: The Cana room would be best and the basement of Clare Hall is fine, but doesn't have a kitchen

OK, so this will sound like a negative comment, but our website is way more lame than every other one. They all seem to have a plan as to what they will be doing. Is anyone even coming to this reunion? Yeah, we may have a lot of people checking it out, but few are actually responding about attending. Will we get mailed invitations? Will there actually be anything besides...oohhh, Oscars?

"Way more lame" than a MySpace page? Ouch.

The reunion events are:

Friday, Nov 23: Drinks at Oscar's

Saturday, Nov 24: Family outing TBD, tour of BC at 3 p.m.

Invitations will not be mailed.

It's just a tough time of year I think to say for sure who can come. Dan...I would be willing to blast email people with solid plans as it comes closer. Do you have an email list? If anyone wants, send me your email (if that is alright, Dan and Millie) and I will send info as it seems concrete.

Hi Beth.

We don't have an email list. We do have this website, though, so let me know if/when you'd like to announce anything.

And when family time plans are all settled, we can contact K Gomez and post an announcement in the Aquila.

Thanks for your help!

Dan - why don't you post something encouraging people to add any connections or ideas they may have that would help us have a dinner on Sat. night, maybe after 5 pm mass.

About Exploration Place - I agree and like the idea of setting a time and then letting everyone know. It really wasn't much of a discount for the group, just $1 or $2 off and we had to reserve for the date in advance (which probably means pay in advance) so if there were some who couldn't make it afterall, there probably wouldn't be a refund. In order to "reserve" tables, we have to pay a rental fee, but they do have their cafe that is open during business hours that we can sit and mingle.
They do have seasonal hours, but the weekends have stayed the same; they'll be closed on Monday's after Labor Day, though. (I volunteer there and tried to get a better deal, but with no luck.)

They may be lame websites, but at least they have plans made and conveniently during the summer travel period. Just an observation. Maybe I'll try to RSVP at Heights?

this site has become very lame.

...lamer.
